Output Families

Multiple representations derived from a single telemetry truth. No output exists independently.

Derived, Not Constructed

NetMetria does not generate outputs independently.

All outputs are derived from telemetry records produced during deterministic execution. This guarantees consistency across all output families.

Cross-Family Consistency

If outputs disagree, the system is invalid.

Output Types

Packets

Deterministic packet realization derived from telemetry. Protocol structure is valid and analyzable.

Packets are not the source of truth. They are one representation of it.

Logs

Structured logs representing observed behavior. Designed for ingestion and analysis by defender tools.

Logs preserve semantic meaning without requiring packet inspection.

Flows

Aggregated and derived telemetry views. Useful for correlation, summarization, and analysis workflows.

Derived from telemetry, not inferred from packets.

Preview

Deterministic inspection of outputs before or alongside realization.

Enables validation without requiring full artifact generation.

Provenance

Trace of how outputs were produced.

Links scenario intent to execution and final artifacts.

Ground Truth

Authoritative record of what occurred during execution.

Not inferred. Not reconstructed. Directly derived from simulation.

Realization Rules

Output generation is constrained, not creative.

Detectability and Tool Alignment

When required, outputs are generated to be:

Ingestible
Analyzable
Meaningful

Detectability requirements are governed by explicit policy, not assumed.
